“Learning” to Make Disciples?

As many of you may know, seminaries in America are not what people think of when they picture dynamic places of preaching and worship that bring the presence of God rushing into a place causing revival to break out. No. Instead, seminaries are envisioned as boring, dreary, ivory towers where old white men talk about theological nonsense that means nothing to nobody and has nothing to do with the local church. Seminaries are often referred to as “cemeteries” to describe the “dead” and “dry” atmosphere they have, thus producing dry and dusty ministers. However, this was not my experience. In fact, I developed my own rebuttal for those who asked me why I was going to a “cemetery.” I would respond, “To learn to rob the grave!” Continue Reading...
